As part of the Opening Day on the Bay events at the Berkeley Yacht Club on Sunday April 23th, there will be a Waffle Breakfast with pricing celebrating PICYA's 100th Opening Day (choose your own price, just like last year), serving waffles with all your favorite toppings from 8am to 11am.To make this event happen, volunteers are needed to help prep, prepare and clean up. One or two people are needed for each two hour shift with the schedule starting at 7am with more shifts opening up at 8am, 9am and 10am.

Berkeley Yacht Club participates in Cruising the Century 100th Year of PICYA Opening Day on the Bay Parade. We have a wonderful list of schedule events for Sunday, April 23rd. A special thanks to our BYC shoreline cleanup volunteers that included Terry and Wil Hand and Michael and Dylan Whitfield. Our mission was to participate in shoreline cleanups to “Help Keep the Berkeley Shoreline Plastic Free”!We all participated in the local shoreline cleanup Saturday 09.17.2016 along our BYC rocky coast for the International Coastal Cleanup. Patty Donald from the Shorebird Park Nature Center was in charge of this annual California State Coastal Cleanup Event which is the state’s largest volunteer event and is combined with the International Coastal Cleanup.
Come for the Waffles and Minosa's and stay for all the other activities BYC has planned for Opening Day on the Bay. Starting at 0800 with BYC's famous Waffles and continuing with Blessing of the BYC Fleet 1000, Dedication of Names 1015, and BYC Fleet Sail Past at 1100. Go out and sail the Bay but be back at the Club by 1600 for Yacht Christening/Re-naming (don't forget to sign up with Patti Brennan) and Music and Supper starting at 1700.
Berkeley Yacht Club is hosting the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association of Northern California (PICYA) Delegates Dinner Meeting on Monday, October 5th. As a member of PICYA we receive reciprocal privileges at other associated yacht clubs. PICYA sponsors many yachting activities, opening day on the bay, safety and management seminars, races, and youth programs to name a few. It is an honor for BYC to host the delegates dinner meeting. BYC has two delegates that represent us at the monthly PICYA meetings they are Patti Brennan and Karen Lile.
Come watch the brilliant guitar maestro Jeff McNish and his band of merry musicians that all converge at Berkeley Yacht Club once a month to create the best Salsa music in the Bay Area... and that's tomorrow!

Jeff McNish, Bob Johns & Fred Johnson - Tomorrow!! Music in the Bar has been building steadily. Good food followed by good music is the routine. Byc's Sunday Jazz Band (Bob Johns & Fred) and Salsa band (Jeff McNish & Fred) combine to bring us a show in the Bar tomorrow night.
