Tri-Island Pursuit Race 2 Which Way will you go!

A reminder that the BYC Tri-Island Pursuit Race 2 is this Sunday, July 9th.  All Sailing Instructions are posted.  The second race of the 3 part series will see the racers circumnavigate Treasure Island.  Always a challenge to decide which way to go.  If you have any questions please contact Patrick Hind-Smith at email psman99@hotmail.com.

BYC Kids Camp Scavenger Hunt

Keeping the Camp Kids busy inside the club house was a challenge.  So, Lisa Holly came up with a Scavenger Hunt.  Can you find the following:

1. A Captain

2. A person over 65 years old

3. A port and starboard light on a compass

4. A trophy with a bell

5. A model sail boat

6. A ships clock

7. A clock that says the time in another country

BYC July 4th 2017 Benicia Cruise Last Call

The July 4th holiday is fast approaching.  Next Saturday, July 1st, starts the 4 day cruise to Benicia by Glenn Fagerlin, Cruise Leader.  The events are:

Saturday, July 1 - Cruise to Benicia, dinner at the Benicia Yacht Club

Sunday, July 2 - Dock party, pot luck or on your own for dinner

Monday, July 3 - Hang out, tour historic Benicia, parade in downtown Benicia at 6:30

Tuesday July 4 - Group dinner Union Hotel 7 pm, fireworks at 9:30

Wednesday July 5 - Return

Artist Pamela Johnson Exhibiting at BYC

Artist Pamela Johnson will be exhibiting her Plein Air Paintings at Berkeley Yacht Club from June 3rd to July 26th.  Please join us on Sunday, June 11th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm  for a reception with the artist.  Pamela is a friend of member/artist Sharon Hind-Smith and is part of our BYC Artist Wall.  Please join us to hear more about the artist and her work.

Vice Commodore Chuck Bullett and wife Captain Lisa Chapin Bullett invite you to the Vice Commodore's Party. We are throwing a Pirate Theme Party.  What makes this SO special is that this will be a huge kick-off event to celebrate the start of BYC's Junior Sailing and Kids' Kamp week.  Feel like donating a sponsorship for a special junior pirate for kids kamp? Berkeley Yacht Club participates in Cruising the Century 100th Year of PICYA Opening Day on the Bay Parade.  We have a wonderful list of schedule events for Sunday, April 23rd.   If you haven't enjoyed the wonderful waffles by Waffle Maestro John Danielson you are really in for a treat.  Maestro John Danielson is suggesting a special pricing of "Choose your own Price" so bring your family, bring your friends, just come.  Big Thanks to Glenn Fagerlin for volunteering his Kronos 45 Catamaran Perception to represent BYC in the historic 100th Parade on the Opening Day.  There is still time to

Do You Know? • Why the club was changed from the original design (Cape Cod) of our Clubhouse to the present design? • There was a submarine under the dining room of the clubhouse? When did you join Berkeley Yacht Club? Was it 1992 or before? You are an Old Salt and you have made Berkeley Yacht Club into the club it is today. We recognize members at 25 years, 30 years, 35 years, 40 years and 45 years for their continued participation in the club activities.
