Maria Danielson, a long time BYC member crossed the bar last week. Maria joined BYC over 20 years ago and was an active participant at club events. She was often found helping in the kitchen, particularly the Opening Day and New Year's Day waffle breakfasts.
Maria and S/C John Danielson were married at the Club in 2005.
Maria was an avid Dragon Boat racer. She helped organize and participated in many of their events. Maria worked tirelessly to organize the team's first trip to Ravenna, Italy to compete in Club Crew Dragon Boat World Championships. Ten years later, her team is heading back to Ravenna again in 2024.
Maria has been battling cancer for the last four years. Throughout, she was a fighter with a bright, can-do determination to overcome. She was adventurous, sincere, warm, selfless and brought fashion and class to whatever she did. Maria will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
