BYC Culture Code

Updated: May 6

Berkeley Yacht Club is a group of unique, diverse individuals with a common love for sailing. We share stories, form friendships, and sometimes, get on each other's nerves. While in the Club, our membership asks for courtesy, respect, and grace. This has been embodied in the below BYC Culture Code. The Board of Directors has approved this language. We are posting it for your consideration. Let us know any thoughts or comments prior to the next board meeting when we will be voting to incorporate this into our House Rules.

The Club, through its Members and Staff, strives to promote a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all of its members and our guests, whether in the clubhouse, on the water or in our community.  We treat everyone fairly and equally, with dignity and respect.  The Club will not tolerate any form of harassment, discrimination, bullying or confrontational behavior.
