A change in the wind patterns portends a change at the Club. Our Friday Night races and BBQ transition to Fun Fridays and Sunday Chowder races. This year, our Chowder is home made and will be accompanied by a second homemade soup. Last week, the Ladies dished up a Minestrone; Scott Barnes added some homemade bread; and Officer of the Day Sharon Isao brought homemade cheeses, olives and other yummy stuff. Check out our calendar to find out what is happening on each Friday night. And, what we might be serving up on a Sunday afternoon.
October also brings club business. At the Oktoberfest, we will hold our Fall Corporation Meeting and introduce to the membership our slate for the 2025 Board of Directors. We hope to see you on Saturday the 19th! Please RSVP early so that we know how much food to purchase and prepare.
Last month, we had a lot of great events that took a lot of volunteers. The Club thanks everyone who lent a hand. Evan McDonald hosted the Big Windward Leeward Race and Kimber Oswald organized the after race party. Judy Lee threw a fun Hawaiin Luau (candy leis for all our kids) for our September Member Dinner with member Pat Lowther and her ukulele band. We closed the month with hosting the Express 37 Nationals run by Mark Bird with the Dinner prepared by Judy Lee and her crew. I am proud of all the members and prospective members who turned out to make each of these events a roaring success. It is amazing what we can do when everyone chips in!
From the parties we throw, the cruises we plan and the races we run, to the clubhouse we maintain and the friendly spirit that greets you when you come to hang out or attend an event, there is a lot of things for us all to do. None of it is possible without volunteers. A great big thank you to those who help out.
We hope to see you around the club, enjoying everything your membership has to offer.
