The BYC Kid's Sailing and Fun Camp was held the last two weeks in June. We were able to introduce over 30 youth to various water sports. The youth spent most mornings on Maria Wallace's El Toro, Glen Garfein's Sabot or the Club's FJ. One morning, Paul Kamen took 5 lucky youth on Twilight Zone!
During Week 1, 20 youth enjoyed a two hour sail on the Pegasus. A huge thank you to Bob Kingston and Pegasus Voyages for such a great opportunity. Week 2 youth had the opportunity to spend the day on the Benjamin Walters and another day on the Pegasus. Another huge thank you to Paul Featherston and the Blue Water Foundation. Both organizations do an amazing job bringing sailing to our Bay Area Youth.
Sailing is not the only water adventure our youth experienced. When not in a sailboat, the youth were able to kayak around the marina or go for a ride on our chase boat, the Bobbi Tosse. Week 2 youth also experienced a paddle in the Dragon Max. Thank you to Paul Kamen and Judy Lee for a different kind of paddling around the marina.
We also hiked through the marina, out to the Kite Park, over to Adventure Playground and the beach and nature center at Shorebird Park. Overall an active two weeks!

Thanks to Roger Mason for his dedication to bringing a Kid's Camp to the Berkeley Yacht Club. And thanks to the volunteers without whom Kid's Camp would not become a reality: Paul Kamen, Falcon Garfein, Judy Lee, Betty Gray and Elaine Efeston. We hope to see you and yours out at Kid's Camp next year.

Thanks to all who volunteered for the Youth Camp. These are memories that will live forever in a child’s heart.❤️
