February brought rain. But, our spirits here at the Club have not dampened. Turbocharge Fridays, our Annual Crab Feed, Lunar New Year, Chowder Racing, Midwinters Champion of Champions, Clipper Cove Cruise Out—members have been busy and the club has been buzzing with activity. Both on and off the water, we have had something for everyone to enjoy.
This trend continues in the month of March.
If you're curious about racing but don't have a boat, need more crew, or would be keen to crew for someone else, attend the Racing Crew Party on Friday, March 8.
We are hosting a Member Jam Night on Saturday, March 9. Our Friday Beercan Racing Opener on March 15 will also be a fundraiser to support the purchase of a new engine for our Race Committee boat, the Bobbi Tosse. We’re serving a Traditional Irish Dinner for our Member Dinner and Corporation Meeting on Saturday, March 23. And of course, the Easter Bunny will be hopping in for Easter Brunch & Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 31.
The Club’s semi-annual Corporation Meeting is part of the Member Dinner, slotted for March 23. This is when we vote on issues that require member participation and a quorum. Nothing is on the agenda this year that requires voting, but we welcome all our new members to attend, we’ll celebrate our Old Salts and provide a brief 'State of the Club' address. I challenge each of you to attend and help create a quorum!
From the parties we throw and the races we run, to the clubhouse we maintain and the friendly spirit that greets you when you come to hang out or attend an event, there is a lot of things for us all to do. None of it is possible without volunteers. A great big thank you to those who help out.
We hope to see you around the club, enjoying everything your membership has to offer.
