The Wheeler is NEXT WEEKEND and we are very excited about it. This year we are trying something a little bit different. We have added the Special Olympics Charity to the Wheeler. The BYC does not currently have a major charity event so why not make our signature event our charity event?
We are now calling it the Rollo Wheeler Regatta to Benefit Special Olympics. We will have our usual two days of racing featuring two different courses on Saturday and a pursuit race on Sunday. Saturday’s racing will be followed by our traditional Oysters on the Half Shell and Oysters Rockefeller served at the club. We will also serve a lovely lasagna dinner and host our trophy presentation. Just to make sure everyone has a great time we have invited some of the Special Olympics athletes and their families to join us for the dinner. They will tell us a little bit about Special Olympics and may even sign your regatta T-shirt for you if you ask them.
